No matter what jobs you have, English will help you a lot.
Basically, we can have our own language based our nationality. Which means where we are born and live for a long time in the same place with people who share same language and culture. Since I joined international company on March 2021 which named Marriott International, world largest hotel chain brand, HQ based in Washington, I have been suffering from language barrier to communicate with my team members who are working around the world. Most of time working for this company, I really want to speak in English what I think in my head but it takes time to translate from Korean into English. It makes me very passive to communicate with them.
In order to overcome that kind of situation, I need to figure out the way where I can keep going without fear. That's the way I try to make it with confident as below.
1. Don't be nervous when I face the people who speaks English around me.
2. Remember I do my best for responsibilities better than language barrier.
3. No matter what I don't understand in some way. I can ask anything if I can understand. It's common way even if we use same language.
4. Trying to learn new word and sentence even new culture around me.
5. I'm lucky to face some difficult time with people who are not familiar with me.
6. Yes, I can go as I learn.
7. As I'm getting old, I need to make me into different world in order to avoid getting old one as ggondae. Try to make a good habit and keep going.
I believe that above 7 things make me more positve while I'm under big pressure in a new circumstance what it occure suddenly. Remember that your character is the sum total of your habits.
